Docklands: London’s Changing Port

Along the Thames, the Docklands evoke London’s history as a port city. Former dock and warehouse sites have been put to new uses in many areas; around the Isle of Dogs, modern offices and high-rises shape the cityscape. The contrast between historic docks and contemporary architecture is what makes a walk through the area so appealing. The Docklands Light Railway connects the area to London’s transport network.
