Royal Wedding in London

The „wedding of the century“ is just around the corner: On May 29, 2011, heir to the throne Prince William will lead his commoner bride, Kate Middleton, to the altar. The wedding is the year’s biggest event: journalists and TV networks from around the world have announced plans to cover the royal wedding. Millions of viewers around the world will watch the event live from their living rooms, while fans from across the globe have booked rooms in London hotels and holiday apartments so they can be there in person when Kate Middleton says “I do” to her prince.

Details of the guest list have now been made public

Kate Middleton’s wedding dress is currently the best-kept secret in all of England: What will Kate look like in her dress? We won’t find out until shortly before the ceremony. However, specific details about the royal wedding guest list have now emerged.

Naturally, the guest list is packed with members of the international aristocracy. But superstars from film, music and television will also join dukes, knights, ladies, princes and kings to celebrate at London’s “wedding of the year.” Among them are Victoria and David Beckham and, of course, “family friend” Sir Elton John. It has also emerged that British director and superstar Madonna’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie is on the guest list for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding. Singer Joss Stone will also be there; she performed at the 2007 event commemorating Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana.

“Mr. Bean” will also be among the guests at the royal wedding: His alter ego, Rowan Atkinson, is a good friend of the groom’s father, Prince Charles. Australian Olympic swimming champion Ian Thorpe has also been invited. According to British media reports, American hip-hop artist Kanye West is also said to have been invited by Kate Middleton and Prince William to their wedding in London as well.
