Scissor Sisters at the O2 Arena on 15 December 2010

The Scissor Sisters have been the cult band of recent years. After their dazzling self-titled debut album, the New Yorkers rocked the charts and radio stations in 2004, both in Germany and in the UK. Then, for a long time, things went quiet for the likeable musicians. In 2010, they scored another hit with their third album, Night Work. The sales figures already speak for themselves. Plenty of reason to give their London fans a concert just before Christmas, too. The venue will be the O2 Arena. You can catch them there on 15 December 2010. A good excuse for a short trip to the Thames, too.

The Scissor Sisters’ new album was released in June 2010. Fire with Fire was the first single, immediately reaching number 51 in the German singles chart. In England, the icons of the gay scene are even more popular. The album promptly reached number two in the charts. The band brings together a whole range of fans. Young and old appreciate the Scissor Sisters, not least for different reasons. Older fans in particular are reminded by the group’s sound of the 1980s and bands like Duran Duran or even the Bee Gees. Scissor Sisters concerts are every bit as lively. Their performance at London’s O2 Arena is therefore highly recommended.

London is the events capital. Concerts and exhibitions are a fixture of the calendar, especially in winter. Plenty of reason to visit the city on the Thames for a few days. With short travel times and affordable hotels, a trip to London is quick and easy to plan. Tickets for events can also be conveniently ordered online, making it easy to plan spontaneous visits. London offers much more than the event itself. Sightseeing is practically a must. Shopping trips are also highly recommended when exchange rates are favourable. It is no coincidence that London is Europe’s fashion capital. The run-up to Christmas is an especially good time to enjoy a spot of shopping in the bustling streets of the English capital.
