Tate
Tate Modern and Tate Britain
“Tate” encompasses several British art museums; in London, Tate Modern and Tate Britain are major venues. Tate Modern, on the south bank of the Thames, is dedicated to modern and contemporary art, while Tate Britain showcases British art from the 16th century to the present day. The permanent collections are free to visit; special exhibitions may charge admission.

Tate Modern is near the Millennium Bridge and can be combined with a visit to St Paul’s Cathedral. Tate Britain pairs well with Westminster and the riverside.
