Buckingham Palace and the Monarchy

Buckingham Palace is the King’s official London residence and a working palace. Its exterior shapes the image of the monarchy; the Changing of the Guard takes place regularly in front of the palace, though dates vary. The State Rooms are open seasonally or on selected dates.

For a stroll in royal surroundings, The Mall and nearby Hyde Park are good options. Visits inside depend on the current opening period.
